Field Trip Thursday August 4: CAMH

Those going by TTC should be on the Southbound Platform of Sheppard Yonge Station by 9:10 a.m. so that we can leave together by 9:15 a.m.

When you think of healthcare, you think first of physical health--diseases like cancer, obesity, SARS, etc. But who's going to help those with gambling, smoking, or alcohol addiction, or those with depression or schizophrenia? Or how about an Internet addiction that causes you to sell your kids to support the habit, even as you read this blog!

On August 4, MicroSkills LINC 4  - 5 will be making its first-ever trip to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health,

Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health,

 at 1001 Queen St. West (Unit 4). The Centre is accessible via TTC Streetcar 504 from King Station.

We look forward to being treated to a tour of CAMH with Mr. Arthur McCudden at 10:30 a.m. Come with an open mind!

Perhaps someday we could volunteer our healthy bodies and minds to help those who suffer from mental illness and addictions!
