Class Policies

Welcome to MicroSkills Language Centre's Level 4 - 5 Class!

Here are our weeks of Class Break (NO SCHOOL):
  1. July 2 - 6, 2012
  2. August 27 - September 7, 2012
  3. October 8 - 12, 2012
  4. December 24, 2012 - January 4, 2013
  5. February 18 - 22, 2013
  6. March 11 - 15, 2013

Please remember to:
  1. Be on time and attend the whole day: the hours are 9 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. Attendance at MicroSkills Language Program is a special learning and networking opportunity.
  2. Come every day, Monday through Friday.
  3. Be ready to learn and have fun--switch your cellphones to silent mode!
  4. Indicate your attendance on the class register (yellow folder).
  5. If you need TTC tokens, please hand in your TTC transfers labelled and on time.
  6. If you can't come to school or cannot attend the whole day, send your instructor an email in advance. This is simply basic courtesy and certainly an expectation in the Canadian workplace or school. Be absent without approval, and your seat cannot be guaranteed.
  7. If you are withdrawing for any reason, it is polite to send details to your instructor regarding which course or school you are going to, or your new job and the name of your employer.
  8. Participate fully in learner presentations, group work, blogging, editing, pronunciation drills, etc. Speak only in English. Seek out people from other cultures and get to know them. Promotion depends on observable improvement. Also, attend all field trips--they are an integral part of your LINC learning and experience! Check the blog in advance, and do not show up at the wrong place/time on field trip days.
  9. Make the best use of LINC--it is a privilege to attend this taxpayer-funded program which should not be abused but richly enjoyed.
  10. If you would like to share your attendance in this LINC class, feel free to email or blog your experiences! And tell a friend!
