Today's Assignment

  1. Reading, Listening, Pronunciation, and Vocabulary: Read this dialogue. Then listen to the podcast twice, take notes on vocabulary, and practise pronunciation for any difficult words.
  2. Speaking: Team up with a partner and role play with a partner at least twice, or until fluent.
  3. Writing: Imagine you arrive at the park and it's raining cats and dogs. You're in a car with a friend. On your blog, write a brief conversation about the weather and the things you see in the park while sitting in your car. Also, please remember to edit any previous posts on your blog.
Successful completion of this assignment by 2:30 p.m. on your blog will count towards attendance for today.

Plan C:

As it turned out, the heavens held, and things turned out better than we thought.

Field Trippers from MicroSkills

Read the yellow sign!

Mmm, it looks and tastes like Texas!

Luke? He's a capitalist something! Yummy!

Sue? Please don't! Hope you like it!

Not so sweet--Bibb's BBQ--courtesy of Sue! Cherries from Luke--thank you!

Final huddle after lunch before the rain cranks up and sends us fleeing!
Kate came on time, and we later saw Luke and Sue and others. After a good educational trail hike through Thomson Memorial Park via a dog free-leash park to Lawrence and then Brimley, we hit the food area, having worked up an appetite.

There was just enough time to tuck in a ribs, chicken, and pulled-pork lunch before the rain descended, sending us all back north. Quite an unusual, appetizing field trip for MicroSkills participants, indeed!

Now, let's check out those who were on Plan B, did their assignments, and updated their blogs!
